Amber i4 – Release Notes 2.x
New firmware, new user interface and new driver
New Firmware 2.x
Output: 8 channels
Each headphone output (HP) can be fed separately with its own mix. This expands the Amber i4 into an 8-channel interface.
Input: 6 channels
- Hardware inputs 1–4 as before:
- Inputs 1 and 2: Line / Hi-Z / Mic
- Inputs 3 and 4: Line
- Inputs 5 and 6 are loopback channels. They optionally route back Line Out A, Line Out B, HP 1 or HP 2 for recording.
GUI Update v2
The graphical user interface reflects the new firmware and has been extended with playback channels 5/6 and 7/8.
- Individual mixes: For each output pair (Line Out A, Line Out B, HP 1, HP 2), a separate mix can be created from all playback channels and all analog inputs.
- Linking output pairs: Output pairs can be linked by holding the Alt key (Windows) or ⌥ Option key (macOS).
- Mini mixers: The sliders can be adjusted directly in the mini mixers.
- Level meters: Every signal has its own level meter.
- Snapshots: The number of snapshots has been increased to 16 (accessible via scroll bar).
- Loopback: The loopback can take its signal from any of the four output pairs, either via the drop-down menu on the left or via the checkbox in each output pair.
- Monitoring: Mono/stereo monitoring has been significantly improved.
- Mono summing: Playback channel pairs can be summed to mono. The balance controls then become panning controls.
Driver Update v2
- ASIO stability significantly improved
- ASIO latency optimized
